Mathew Morrison of Glee fame has explained to Details magazine what he does to keep his incredibly buff beach body. And it dispels any notions I had of him being a bit cool. Sigh.
-He cycles 100 miles a week.
-He runs 25 miles a week.
-Whenever he has down time on the set of Glee he does ab work.
-He does resistance training four times a week without fail.
-He is ‘merciless’ in limiting snacks.
I’m all for exercise and fitness but these lengths seem extreme (and boring!). And if all that wasn’t obsessive enough, in order to get buffed up for the December cover of the magazine he put himself through a starvation diet for 3 days beforehand:
“I had to have a six-pack on show. My trainer said to eat nothing apart from sweet potato and very little water. The potato acts as a sponge and your body literally shrinks and gets ripped and tight. Afterwards, I ordered two pizzas and pasta!”
So there you have it. Starvation, dehydration and obsessively exercising will get you a six-pack like this. Doesn’t really seem worth it when a bitta Photoshop could have sorted him out!
