Gladys has become the oldest women ever to finish a marathon, the Guinness Book of Records have confirmed. She is 92 years of age.
Gladys ran her first marathon in 2004 at the sprightly age of 86. She continues to train for her next marathon and hopes to climb 19,298 foot (5,882 meter) Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Her advice for other pension-drawing marathoners? “Think positive and take care of yourself,” she told KITV-4. “And, I have never drank or smoked and I think that makes a big difference.”
I’m impressed. I love Gladys. This makes me happy! Might get out the jogging shoes…
Very Inspirational! Here I am humming and hawing about doing the 10K mini marathon in June ! I am doing a 25k cycle next week tho 🙂
