I've been using the Australian haircare brand Kusco-Murphy for over two weeks, so here is the review.
First off, the brand still has a current home at Kusco-Murphy. The old appeal is very much the same: organic-leaning Australian haircare, gorgeous scent, lovely packaging, and products that feel a bit more special than the usual shower lineup.

Wash, rinse, and treatment
I tried the shampoo, conditioner, and Revival Balm-style treatment. The products smell absolutely gorgeous, and I love the packaging. The shampoo foams up nicely, which is worth mentioning because some natural-leaning shampoos never quite manage it.
The conditioner is a lovely everyday detangler. It was good at smoothing my very messy hair without turning it flat. The treatment is the richer one: after using it, my hair was noticeably smoother and softer.
- Shampoo: good foam, clean feel, beautiful scent.
- Conditioner: easy everyday smoothing and detangling.
- Treatment: best when hair needs softness without heaviness.
Beach hair
This was my favourite of the styling products. The scent is gorgeous and summery, with that crushed-bamboo, bergamot, coconut sort of feeling that makes a product instantly memorable.
It gives real texture and can be used on wet hair to style or on dry hair to add some oomph. The only downside is if your hair is already very dry: beachy texture can make dry hair feel drier, so use it where you want movement rather than coating every strand.
Lavender cream
I really like this one too, but be warned: it has a very obvious lavender smell. If you do not like lavender, step away now.
It is great scrunched into wet hair to encourage curl and soften frizz. It feels more moisturising than the beach texture product, so dry or damaged hair may prefer this route.
The one I would skip
The hold product was the weakest for me. It smelled nice, but it did not do much for my hair in terms of shape or staying power. Not terrible, just not exciting enough to buy again.
That is the useful thing about testing a range: some pieces become instant favourites and some do not. For the boring health baseline, the American Academy of Dermatology's healthy-hair guidance is still the check against over-washing, rough drying, and heat damage.
Keeping Beautiful's verdict
Kusco-Murphy is a really gorgeous brand. The products are effective, smell beautiful, and have that Australian-botanical feeling without leaving hair greasy or weighed down.
Definitely recommended, especially if you like haircare that feels sensorial but still practical. The shampoo, conditioner, treatment, beach texture, and lavender cream are the pieces I would look at first.
